SEND Team
Principal
The Head Teacher, Mr David Perkins, has responsibility for the day-to-day management of all aspects of the school's work, including:
- Provision for pupils with SEN.
- Keeping the governing body fully informed,
- Working closely with the The Student and Family Support Team (SAFS).
- Supporting the policy through resources.
- Working with the SAFS team to ensure SEND budget is identified and meets needs of pupils with SEND.
- Offers valuable guidance and support to all members of the SAFS Team
The SEND Governor
The current Governor has responsibility for SEND at Littletown Academy. They have regular contact with the SAFS team and the Senior Management, ensuring they are kept up-to-date with SEND provision. School must make an annual report to parents on the school’s current SEND provision.

Pupil Premium Champion- Becky Jackson (pupilpremium@littletown.devon.sch.uk
Becky is responsible for the arrangements for writing of the Pupil Premium strategy and for the monitoring of the arrangements for Pupil Premium children. For a detailed look at Becky’s role within school, please follow the link to the Pupil Premium school policy.
Senior Mental Health Lead - Susie Davis (mentalwellbeing@littletown.devon.sch.uk)
Susie Davis is responsible for the writing of the Mental Health strategy and for monitoring the wellbeing of staff and children at Littletown. She has introduced Mental Health Ambassadors throughout the school.
Pastoral and Nurture Co-ordinator- Karen Canniford (pastoral@littletown.devon.sch.uk)
Karen Canniford works alongside the SAFS Team. Her role is to support the Learning Team with Nurture support, deliver speech and language programmes to children that need additional support. Karen also assesses children using our reading scheme and delivers interventions that assist children with dyslexic difficulties and auditory processing difficulties. Karen is one of our Nurture practitioners.
Karen is also responsible for running our Timid To Tiger Parenting course.
Family Support Worker - Jacqui Talbot (familysupportworker@littletown.devon.sch.uk)
Jacqui Talbot works to support parents/carers engage with external agencies and work through current or potential barriers to their children thriving at school.
