Year 1

In Year 1 Geography, we went onto the playground and found a space. We listened to our teacher say different directions and tried to follow them, for example, ‘Walk forwards, stop, walk backwards, stop, turn left, stop, walk forwards’. We then teamed up with a partner and took it in turns to follow or make directional instructions. We even tried this with our eyes closed!
Year 1 have been learning about plants in science. We have planted our own French Bean seed and hope to watch it grow over the summer term.
Photos from our recent outdoor classroom, building dens. We have been doing it as part of our D&T project, Shade and Shelter. The children used different materials and practiced their knotting skills to build a shelter. The shelter needed to be waterproof, protect us from the weather and fit our group inside.
